Description

Blue Note  BST-84193 EMI France DMM Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Indestructible.
This is the French EMI Direct Metal Mastered copy from the '80s.  The credits say that original master tapes were used, and the record does sound very good.  The thing is though.....the vinyl has "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" and "Wally" handwritten (Wally Traugott was the mastering engineer) and it also bears the stamp of SRC, or Specialty Records, who pressed some of the finest vinyl pressings I've heard.  So, it's very possible that the whole DMM thing was a flop, from the standpoint of the producers, and they had jackets printed up in advance.  Or, they kept the jackets and repressed after issues with the original DMM pressings came to light.  Or, the stampers wore out from selling a bunch and they had another cutting session with Wally.  Whatever???  It does sound good.

The vinyl is Mint- with some inaudible scuff marks; the original paper sleeve was replaced with a VRP rice paper record sleeve.
The jacket is VG++, with some very minor rub-wear and a minor crease.  See pictures.
