Here's a very important release for Blondie collectors. This is Blondie's very first single, "X Offender" released in Japan in 1976. I should also note that this is the advance white label promo pressing which is quite difficult to find. Japanese vinyl is always collectable because they use virgin vinyl and their sleeves are often different from anywhere else in the world. This, of course, has an awesome unique sleeve which is really just an insert. The record itself is housed in a generic white sleeve. The alternate picture features the band with Gary Valentine who left after this album was released...and all with Japanese characterizations. If you're a Blondie collector, you will know that this single has alternate takes of both songs which are different from the album versions. That's always fun!
SLEEVE: The insert has wear and has definitely been handled. Please see pics. There are no tears but there is some bubbling, wrinkling, bending and ringwear. The color has not faded but there are a few marks that minimize the black on the left side.
VINYL: The vinyl itself is quite clean with a couple of scuffs on both sides that don't seem to affect play (meaning, no skipping.) The label: Side A has small brown spot under "A." Side B has a spot to the right of the hole and the left of the hole. Also, there WILL BE some static, pops and ticks as this record is from the 70s. There's no way around it.
Full disclosure: It's not perfect but will be a great placeholder until you can grab a pristine copy. It is still rare and a must for Blondie completists.
