Up for auction is the holy grail of Blind Willie Johnson Columbia 78’s - John The Revelator with the flip of You’re Gonna Need Somebody On Your Bond!


This disc was released on June 30, 1930 and was withdrawn almost immediately after it went into the market. Very few of this disc survive, and of those, they very rarely come up for sale.


This one is a West Coast pressing and is a wonderful survivor, grading a solid E- with just a little bit of static from play. Its provenance is that it originally was one of the stars of the Daniel Levine Collection. I purchased the record this past Spring and have enjoyed it tremendously over the past Summer. I am reluctantly offering it up for the next discriminating owner to enjoy!
