Blair - Night Life 12" on Miracle, 1979, NM-
Extremely hard to find in any condition, this is one sought-after 12". Barney 'Blair' Perry was the original guitarist in the Blackbyrds. He released one solo album from which this title cut is taken. The USA 12" came out on Solar and this is the rare UK 12" on Miracle - apparently a louder and clearer pressing.
Why's it such an important record? Because it was one of the tunes that kick-started the Chicago house revolution, receiving regular play at early house clubs in Chicago. The insistent four-on-the-floor and synth riff is classic dance. Brilliant tune and so hard to find in great condition. This copy has been played once and stored in pristine condition for 20 years. Slight crackle on the run-in so NM- instead of NM.
