Description

An original 1st press of SBS on the UK WWA label from 1973. Matrix 1/1. Please note the labels are flat [not ridged] and the WWA logo is coloured silver - these are all indicative of very 1st pressing. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover. The true 1st issue covers can be identified  as follow..They must not credit the printer on the rear. The image in the interior must stretch out right to the edge of the cover - it must not show a border to the image [i.e. cropping]. We have a plastic bag warning inner sleeve from the time. THIS IS NOT the original bespoke SBS inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I could make out nothing more than a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with great clarity. One of the best Sabbath albums..if not the best! And this rendition does this SABBATH classic maximum justice. Interference is largely absent and you will be treated to very nice clean audio from the outset. Even the acoustic moments like FLUFF play back very nice and clean. As good as any example of auditioned. You might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. The one deviation is a couple of isolated ticks during the very 1st track. Other than that...sit back...crank it..and be impressed!
Cover (Vg+) A difficult cover to find in top condition. The black front will often exhibit a lot of surface wear and the rear is prone to ageing and grubbiness. But this example seems to have escaped the worst of it. The front exhibits some light handling wear and looks better than most. Please note there's a sticker removal in the top right corner - it has been coloured in and so is difficult to spot. The rear has escaped the ageing process and I can only make out some light handling in a couple of spots. The interior is immaculate - no issues at all. Edge wear is very light for this title and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is 100% intact - which is quite unusual. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits or markings though.
