Description
1973 re-issue of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid album and the last using the original vertigo masters, this time on Spaceship labels.
Matrix numbers endings are 1Y//2 & 2Y//2
Vinyl grades G+ to VG- visually. Lots of very fine sleeve scuffs, hairlines and a few light but feelable scratches under normal light. Despite this the record plays quite well. There are some light background crackles and soft clicks throughout but mostly nothing overly distracting. Planet Caravan is pretty crackly and has a light repetitive click throughout the whole track but otherwise it’s not a bad sounding copy. Side 1 play grade is overall VG- due to Planet Caravan dragging the grade down. Side 2 play grade is a bit better at around VG. Certainly not perfect by any stretch of the imagination and more of a collection filler than anything else but does play through without sticking or jumping and with the exception of Planet Caravan it sounds quite good.
The sleeve is VG+ It’s in pretty decent condition but has a small scuff/tear on the opening edge as shown. Otherwise a little light general storage wear and better than many copies.
Inner is a bit discoloured and grades VG+. Will include new inner.
Overall it looks rough and has a bit background crackle here and there, the odd click, but mostly is an acceptable listen. The quieter Planet Caravan has the most marks and drags the overall play grade down but the rest of the album isn’t too bad at all.
