Description

We all love a bit of Paranoid - only problem is.... those original 1st Vertigo copies are VERY sought after and go for crazy $$$ when clean. A good alternative for quality audio and best value is the WWA pre oil crisis pressing. It's only three years behind the 1st copies and is pressed on heavy pre-oil crisis vinyl. Not that the labels are totally flat - without ridging at the edges. The WWA logo is in grey - and NOT white. These are indicators that this pressing occurred in 1973 - prior to the effects of the oil crisis. The vinyl comes housed in an original heavy Deluxe gatefold laminated cover.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, and one semi feelable mark on side 2 [which does just sound - see detail]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. By and large a super little player more than capable of dishing out the heavy riffing of Sabbath. It's a pretty clean player too. The only background which was audible was in CARAVAN. This is a very fussy track and no copy will play it perfect clean. Just a touch of light background observable - nothing invasive. A mark mentioned above does cause a few ticks in the outro to Electric Funeral and there's a few more in the 1st segment of Hand of Doom. All pretty minor in the mix and only audible in the quietest moments. Overall still a cracking copy. Like it!
Cover (Ex-) These WWA covers are well made with heavy card and the lamination really helps to build strength. Lovely shiny front and rear - there's a couple of trail indentations noticeable [on the front] and just a touch of lightest light fade. The interior looks great - no issues. Edge wear is very minor and the openings still sharpish. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
