1st post Vertigo UK pressing. The band moved to the shortlived WWA record label to release their fifth album, 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath', in 1973 with the label re-releasing the four albums from the back catalogue at the same time. This is the original crossover WWA/Vertigo release, still in the Howards Printers laminated box sleeve with Vertigo logo and catalogue number with WWA 008 sticker on the rear. Vertigo matrix details are struck through but clearly present on the runouts. So essentially, the Vertigo press repackaged and with new labels. An amazingly well preserved example of Black Sabbath’s iconic fourth album. Incredibly, this still has the original poster included. Most posters were used and subsequently lost, and certainly the vast majority of these WWA copies that made it through the decades and onto the collectors market with the poster still present would have had the poster removed to be paired up with a first pressing. The winning bidder here will have that as an option, but this copy is so stunning that it seems a shame to separate the poster from it!
VINYL:
Virtually Near Mint. Stunning copy, clean, bright and clearly very lightly played.
SLEEVE:
NM a superb copy of the laminated box sleeve - the best I have seen. The titles are very light purple - almost pink - it retains the original correct ‘Sweet Leaf’ song title (subsequent WWA pressings rename it ‘Sweet Life’ in error). A beauty - check photos.
INNER/INSERTS:
Plain white with blue text in superb condition. The original poster is unused.
