Description

A 1st issue of SABBATH's debut on the VERTIGO label from 1970. Matrix 1/1. This LP would have been available whilst charting on 1st release.  Please note there is a 'Philips Product' label variation which would have been available on the day of release. Look at the label shot - this is the LARGE SWIRL version with VERTIGO text at the foot of the label - indicative of 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original  gatefold cover. Also included is the original VERTIGO SWIRL inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Ok, so this album is freaking awesome! Lovely condition very well preserved and has seen minimal use [not something you can say often on a Sabbath 1st issue!]. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. Also please note there is a touch of edge wobble on this copy measured at a maximum of [<1mm] amplitude. I'm pleased to report this is of no consequence to audio performance at any point. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Now, this is not a throw-away Ex+...this a proper solid grading with 'NO HYPE'. It just so happens that this is a freaking amazingly well preserved copy. And I'd imagine there aren't many knocking around in this kind of condition. So, do yourself a favour and bag it while you can...Interference is minimal. All we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments [i.e practically nothing!].....BASE SOLO BY GEEZER - 'CLEAN'..very very nice....EASILY the best copy for audio I've heard..
Cover (Ex) Superb condition and has clearly been cared for down the years. These covers often turn up in a torrid state. NOT HERE! A lovely front and back with NO nasty marks hidden away. NO creasing -nice! Edge wear is pretty light - except for two inches along the top-right-edge. The spine is 100% intact. The interior is in very nice condition with just light handling wear down at the base. Quite frankly a lovely example...
Inner (Ex) Light ageing. NO splits and NO markings.
