Rarity: This is the Monaural mix of these classic songs. The original mix, with horns on ‘Evil Woman’! This is the ‘missing link’ to early Black Sabbath as the band ‘Earth’. They had a more jazzy sound and this mix shows that. After it was released they remixed it to stereo, and made a more guitar laden mix of the track. Quite possibly one of the rarest Sabbath items out there. See website www.sabbathlive.com or http://sabbath.se/ for more details. I received this one from an estate sale and apparantly this was supposed to be a 'pep-rally' song for some local soccer stadium around Newcastle England. Obviously it didn't get played---> : )

Condition of Vinyl NM! please note I do NOT grade mint unless the item is still sealed. This one plays flawlessly. An absolute gem. Must have been played only a half dozen times.
Stereo mixes vs. Mono mixes Stereo albums give greater depth and presence whereas mono albums usually are more dynamic, louder and present the with greater clarity. Also, typically, the band usually helped the engineers do the mono mix, which was, in fact the primary mix until ’67-’68. So in general, this is the mix that had the bands ‘thumbs up’ this is the one they wanted you to hear. The stereo mix was usually done solely with engineers, and studio personnel, and was sort of approved by the band after the mixing was complete. As a general guide to rarity, mono was more common from ‘61–‘66; Around ‘67–‘68 the balance was roughly equal, then from late ‘68-‘69 the balance swung more to stereo
