Black Sabbath Debut 1st Album Vinyl Lp Previewed LN! Vintage Error Sleeve - Read
Black Sabbath's Monumental Metal Debut! See photos for track listing. I previewed the disc in its entirety - the sound quality is near perfect - no snaps, scratches, pops or jumps at all! The sleeve is another matter.
This was a radio station copy. The disc is fine! I have some questions about the sleeve, though. As you can see by the photos, the sleeve is very worn. It has a 1970 copyright date on it, and the infamous misspelling of Ozzy as "Ossie." The spine has the "1871" identifier without a prefix. The disc itself has the Warner Bros. Palm Tree Label, which means it is not a 1970 green label pressing. But did Warner not correct the sleeve for a later edition? I do know that radio stations will sometimes put newer discs is old sleeves to save effort in record library cataloging systems. I acquired this album in the 1970s, so I believe it is a 1973 pressing - but I wonder if the sleeve is from the original 1970 release? That's as far as I took my research. If you know more, let me know. Better yet, buy it!
