Up for grabs is the EXTREMELY RARE 45 from the band Bitter Creek. Plastic Thunder b/w Behind The Smiles.
If your reading this you might know or heard about this band. Bitter Creek wrote and recorded Plastic Thunder in the early 60s but it wasn’t officially released until 1972 on the Mark IV label.
Plastic Thunder has been rumored to be the VERY first “Heavy Metal” song ever written. Even before the great Black Sabbath...but what do I know. All I know for sure is that this song backed with “Behind The Smiles” is a full blown, in your face, hard rock, fuzz filled, drum pounding...full on masterpiece.
You might have heard “Plastic Thunder” on various Bonehead Crunchers compilations. “Behind The Smiles” was unheard for decades (only to be discovered and put onto YouTube) “Behind The Smiles” will finally see a proper release on a upcoming Brown Acid compilation on the Riding Easy Records label early this year.
This 45 is so rare that for decades it disappeared from the face of the earth. Being one of the most sought after 45s in the hard rock, heavy metal, psych genres. With diehard 45 collectors spending hundreds of dollars on a copy. Only a hand full of people ever laying eyes on one. Until now...
Recently discovered was the NOS of remaining boxes of this rare masterpiece. Word is that a total of 500 of these 45s were pressed. With only 100 or so ever seeing the light of day. Leaving the rest of the 400 or so to be buried away and forgotten about until now.
I got this 45 from one of those unearthed boxes and it is in absolute MINT condition, UNPLAYED, New Old Stock (NOS) you will not find a better copy than this...hands down.
