- Condition of LP - Mint (play graded on a Thorens TD 160 turntable, with Shure M(e) 75ED cartridge and standard elliptical stylus)
This collector's opinion - Here is one of the great Bing LP from the 1950's. This LP, along with "New Tricks"also released in 1957 with the Buddy Cole Trio, represents some of the best Crosby crooning of the 1950's. The songs are arranged with a slow intro verse and chorus and then with the help of Buddy Cole on the piano move into an uptempo second verse and chorus. This Japanese pressing from 1981 is as close to a Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab version of this LP as we are likely to get.
I have one of these in my collection and although it is mono (as it should be, originally recorded as such) the sound on the Japanese pressing is crystal clear, well balanced and surprisingly 'large'. The original pressings, of which I also have one, doesn't come close in sonic quality. Included is the original OBI wrapper (anyone out there know what O.B.I. stands for?) and the lyric sheet in English.
All LPs are professionally cleaned on a VPI record cleaning machine, and carefully packaged in a proper LP mailer with the LP outside of the jacket to protect the jacket seams from damage. The last time I checked, an LP can be sent regular air service to the USA for about $10.

A NOTE ABOUT GRADING AND PRICING- I use the Goldmine grading system with one addition (see below) and always test play the record. I am listing records that will be worth the total value you pay (auction price and shipping) so there will always be value to other collectors out there. Even if I have to sell a $10 LP for $4 or $5, I will make sure that after shipping you still have a purchase that is worthwhile. I do not plan to list any vinyl that is not in VG+ condition or better, only rare LPs would be worth listing in this condition - jackets may not be in VG+ or better shape, but any defects will be noted.This is the Goldmine Grading System:
- MINT (M): Absolutely perfect in every way (a grade that is seldom used, except for sealed LPs).
- NEAR MINT (NM or M-): A nearly perfect record.
- Very Good ++ (VG++): This is my addition to the standard grading system to give collectors a more specific idea on the sound quality. An LP with nothing more than one or two light ticks, or a light scratch which doesn't sound can't be called NM, but certainly is better than your average VG+ LP.
- Very Good Plus (VG+): A VG+ record will show some signs it was played and handled by a previous owner who took good care of it, and any defects like surface noise or small ticks will not detract from the music.
- Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found on a VG+ record will be more pronounced - surface noise or ticks will be evident upon playing.
