For auction is a great listeners copy of Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II by American singer-songwriter and pianist, Billy Joel. It was his first greatest hits album and was released in July 1985 as a double-LP. It features Joel’s hits from 1973 to 1985 plus two previously unreleased tracks. The album charted globally in thirteen markets peaking in the Top-20 in eight and the Top-10 in six. In the UK it reached #7 and in the US #6 on the Billboard 200. The compilation has sold 18 million copies worldwide, 11.5 million alone in the US. In the US it has been certified 23x platinum, 2x diamond and is the sixth-most-certified album of all time. This copy is a 1st Pitman Pressing.
Vinyl is play graded VG+. Record 1 has a few barely visible surface marks. Record 2 has some light visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. They both play with faint background noise at times that is far from overwhelming. Neither has any skips or jumps. Please see pics.
Gatefold cover is also in VG+ condition. Wear on corners. No splits and title is fully legible. On front there are a group of four creases. Two are from title edge, one about an inch long and one tiny. The other two are from top edge are each about an inch long. Scratches on front. Extremely light ring wear on front but none on back or inside gatefold. Please see pics.
