Billy Bragg: Back To Basics (Double LP)
Purchased by me on its release 30 years ago and very well looked after in my personal record collection ever since. Here we have an original UK Press of Back To Basics which was a double album compilation featuring the entire 1st 2 Billy albums plus the classic Between The Wars EP (not available till then on an album).
the sleeve is in nice condition with a fully sharp readable spine (pictured). There is a small blemish/ stain and a slight bit of wear on the back on the opening side which I have tried to photograph but overall it’s well looked after. The inner sleeves are also in great condition with no splits or biro etc. Both records are in excellent condition, with clean labels and sit perfectly flat on the record deck. They play through with absolutely no sticking, jumping or sticking.
It has been stored away for some years so I've just cleaned it using my professional record cleaning machine and the award winning, L'Art Du Son cleaning fluid. It is now free from dirt, dust and static and in the best possible condition for the next owner to enjoy.
After cleaning I have test played all 4 sides all the way through on my Project Debut Carbon turntable fitted with an Ortofon 2M Blue stylus. Plays through beautifully with barely any surface crackle and contains some truly classic Billy Bragg tracks on this record sounding all analogue and very dynamic and a great place to start if you’re new to his music. Just compared it with the CD and this wins hands down with the digital sounding flat and poorly mastered.
