Description
Decca DL 5560 mono vinyl 10" LP (1950s-60s) Bill Haley and his Comets Rock Around the Clock (front cover title)
Shake Rattle and Roll (back cover and label title) Shake, Rattle and Roll/A.B.C. Boogie/Rock Around the Clock/Thirteen Women//Dim, Dim the Lights/Happy Baby/Birth of the Boogie/Mambo Rock
Record is G
Cover is VG with small surface tears on front (above the B and first L of BILL), small reddish rub marks on last line of liner notes on back, light age spotting, light creasing
One of the more unusual examples of this seminal rock & roll LP. The record, which is beat and scratched but plays acceptably, looks to be a deep groove original American Decca pressing. Matrix #'s are MG4017T7 / MG4018T4.
The cover is printed on light cardboard (or heavy paper stock) typical of early imports. The only clue to its origin is "OFF - SET - ITALGRAF - BOGOTA" printed in very small letters near the bottom of both the front and back covers.
I assume that this pairing of cover and record is authentic--I bought it this way at a sale many years ago, and only recently determined the cover to be South American.
