Big J.D. Wright – ‘Now She Wants To Leave’ / J.D. and Eddie – ‘She’s Giving Me Love’ – Pico 1021 (USA)
No introduction necessary to those who are “in-the-know”, this is a seriously rare and seriously wonderful two-sider; hard to say which is the better side, as they’re both great. A very rare disc on an obscure label out of Los Angeles, you will have to wait a long time until another copy comes around! Big J.D. Wright had sung lead with The Metallics, who cut four singles for Baronet in 1962. Their doo-wop 45 ‘I Need Your Love’ (Baronet 2) is considered by many as “the best record of all time”.Condition: VG+ or thereabouts. Essentially as good as the sturdy pressing will allow, you will most likely never find a better copy; this record has been played no more than a handful of times (please listen to the clips). Labels are ever so slightly smudged and show hints of mild wear; the A-side label has an “X” in green marker pen (please see scans).
