About This Record.  This is an exceptionally rare MONO Columbia stock label LP by Janis Joplin and Big Brother & The Holding Company entitled Cheap Thrills.  Mono copies of this LP were long rumored to exist but unconfirmed.  Given the recent copy that just sold for more than $2,000, this is not a confirmed item that really might not exist because it does?  And here is another one to prove it.  This mono mix, especially the bass and guitar, are like . . . from another planet.  Seriously, the mix is really  different and punchy and quite difficult to describe.  There is NO REISSUE of this LP in Mono yet.  The first several Goldmine Price Books questioned this items very existence until the most recent update (yeah, Goldmine is pretty good about this stuff).  Roger Crumb artwork cover in wonderful condition is worth the price of admission alone.

About Me.  I have been a Record Collector for over 35 years.  With two kids in college, I often sell records so I can buy more vinyl or, in this case, pay the last college tuition bills of the year!  99% of what I sell is vinyl; read my Feedback!  I don't sell Craaap; only stuff that I deem worthy so please inspect closely and often.  Common LPs are a waste of your time and mine!    I bought this many years ago during my travels and have kept in well preserved.  This comes in a new rice paper equivalent sleeve, and new 4 mil plastic sleeve.

Cover Condition.  The USA Gatefold cover is in Excellent Condition.  Mild corner wear, medium wear in lower left corner (see last photo).  Light age wear; some very very light ring wear beginnings on the back cover.  Super NICE!

Vinyl Condition.  Plays EX/better with a few pops and small parts with background noise except for song 3 on each side which plays VG+.  Quiet parts in Ball and Chain have background noise, especially the first passage.  Looks VG+ with a couple of scuffs on each side.  Plays great on my unforgiving $$$$ Benz LP cartridge.

Label Condition.  EX+. Light wear; no problems (see photos).
