Description

Beverly Kenney

Sings for Playboys-LP

 Decca DL 8743-Mono

1958 33 1/3 RPM LP release. 1st of 3 Decca LP's for Beverly Kenney, an excellent Jazz vocalist with a breathy style reminiscent of Lee Wiley and Anita O'Day at times. Kenney is accompanied here by Ellis Larkins on piano (an excellent accompanist to Ella Fitzgerald as well) and Joe Benjamin on bass. Song selection leans heavily on wistful and romantic standards. Titles include "Do It Again," "You're My Boy," and "It's Magic." LP is, in a very real sense, a Jazz "torch" album. Cover is clean with only slight wear (number "124" was ink stamped on back cover). 2 right corners show a bit of wear/creasing. Disc (black label with silver print-horizontal colorband across center-this is a second press label) is clean glossy, and Near Mint. Plays nicely with only light surface noise and clear sound.

Scarce Jazz vocal LP in fine condition! Offered without reserve!

Condition: (EXC+/NM)
