"Best of Limp (Rest of Limp)" - DC New Wave Compilation LP - with Bad Brains first relseased recording - Second Pressing - VG+/EX
This compliation LP from Washington, DC label Limp Records (wordplay on Stiff Records), run by the late Skip Groff from his legendary Yesterday & Today record store in Rockville, MD, was originally released in August 1980. This second pressing was issued some time after that.
Featuring more or less the label's "greatest hits" up to that point, this second pressing features yellow photocopied cover sheets glued to a generic plain white sleeve in a polybag (original release covers were blue, total 1000 pressed). Vinyl is identical to original pressing, it is believed (but unconfirmed) that at some point the remaining original album stock suffered water damage and was repackaged/reissued with the new yellow covers. Plain inner sleeve, no inserts. Please feel free to verify features of various release versions on Discogs if you have any concerns.
Overall condition is VG+. This was purchased to replace a copy that was stolen, never opened until now solely for the purpose of taking photos. Vinyl is VG+/EX with more scuffing than I would expect to see on a supposedly brand new record. Sleeve and cover sheets are NM, no evident flaws.

Of particular note is the Bad Brains song Don't Bother Me, from the band's first studio recording session (recorded March 1979, released August 1980). This recording predated their debut single Pay to Cum (recorded December 1979, released June 1980) by several months. Skip described Don't Bother Me as "really, really tribal, guttural, and really punk." This was recorded at the same time as other songs released by the band as The Omega Sessions in 1997 (but was not included in that collection). A different recording of the song is included in the Black Dots album of demos, recorded at Inner Ear Studios in June 1979 and released in 1996.
