Best Of The Hideouts - Hideout Records 1966 HLP 1002 Original Detroit Garage LP
THE HIDEOUT was a suburban DETROIT rock & roll teen scene club of legend where some of the GREAT Michigan garage-rockers of the era turned-it-on. This is the rare 1966 first pressing - not to be confused with the counterfeit - Beware of the reissue -- its almost an exact reissue, but if you put this copy next to it, you can see the difference. Cover on this original is clear, and doesn't have the wear from the photo of the copy of the cover used for the reissue. Labels are slightly darker on the original. Also has the matrix numbers, XCTV121245-1A, machine stamped in the dead wax.
Most of the groups featured on the HIDEOUT LP also cut small local 45's on the same Hideout label (which are highly sought and go for big $ in a hurry) ...lots of cool fuzz-guitar led cookers are featured - highlighted by strong self penned melodies. Includes the killer all girl garage band, The Pleasure Seekers, led by teenage Suzi Quatro and her sisters ...but that's just the icing on the cake, as the fuzzed-punkers unfold by the likes of The Underdogs, The 4 of Us, Yorkshires, The Yorkshires, etc ...Again, 1966 first pressings of this local Detroit Lp are rare, Overall, the HIDEOUT Lp will appeal primarily to garage rocker fans of the sixties, and is of significant historical value as well, documenting the early Detroit garage scene circa 1966.
Original 1966 pressing LP. Cover is in VG+ condition with minor Wear . Vinyl is VG - VG-, with many hairlines and a few scratches. (Not Destroyed......) LP plays with no skips but does have some pop and clicks. All these types of LP's came with low press runs. I am including a printout article .
