This is a fine recording of Hector Berlioz's L'enfance du Christ with Colin Davis leading a mostly English group of soloists, choir and chamber orchestra, unusually on the excellent French label L'Oiseau-Lyre, very well regarded in Europe for producing fine recordings of lesser-known pieces and this is no exception.
The US distribution is by London and this is on LOH 96003, recorded in 4 track stereo at 7 1/2 ips, a double album sized tape.
All tapes are play tested on one of my own tape decks before listing and I check for no signs of oxide shed during play or fast winding.
