Description

Bennie Green     Back On The Scene  Blue Note 1587  mono 47 W 63rd NYC label deep groove

Bennie Green (tb), Charlie Rouse (ts), Joe Knight (p), George Tucker (b), Louis Hayes (d)     Recorded 1958

"47 West 63rd NYC" label and deep groove both sides. "RVG", "9M" and the Plastylite "P" aka "The Ear" in the runouts both sides. No copyright "R" on labels. "47 West 63rd St., New York 23" address on back cover.

Record looks  strong VG++, near M- and plays VG++ overall. Side 2 Track 1, a ballad, plays VG+, rest of record plays strong VG++.  Music plays strong well above occasional light surface noise. There's a hairline scuff app 1 1/2 inches across but not into grooves at end of Side 1 which does not affect play. Some minor vinyl "blemishing" or discoloration. No scratches. Grooves do not show graying or spreading.  Record has been played but well taken care of.

 Cover is VG+.

Front cover looks nice. It's bright and glossy with only light wear. App 3 inch long and narrow strip of laminate peeling at the pocket.  Back cover has moderate wear with some yellowing at the edges and staining at the pocket. There's some name stamps, a store stamp and date written in ink.  No seam splits. Top seam shows overall light wear with small spot of heavy  wear at the pocket.  Bottom seam has spots of heavy wear at the corners and tiny bit of slick missing near the pocket. At the pocket, there's a spot of very heavy wear app 1/4 inch which looks like it might be the beginning of a seam split.  Spine is bright and print readable. Tiny spots of wear at the corners.

My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
