Description
Bruno Walter conducts the Columbia Symphony Orchestra in this boxed set of seven records containing all nine of Beethoven’s symphonies.
I purchased it around 1959 at Grinnell’s in Royal Oak, Michigan.
These are stereo 33 1/3, 12” LP records, five of them still in original transparent sheet plastic covers with the Columbia logo.
The containing box is a cloth bound collector’s edition style- see photo for appearance. The box lid is slightly warped.
All records are in paper sleeves bound in the box. The content of each sleeve is printed on it.
The last two sleeves describe the last two record sides out of order.
This is an imperfection which might make this a true collector’s item, since the small error was likely corrected in subsequent printings.
Also included in my offering is the original 48-page “Beethoven Reader”, included with the set- see photo.
The Reader is still in excellent condition, except that the cover has become unstapled.
