Description
One of the rarest early Bee Gee records, the 45rpm EP entitled "The First Of May"
Recorded by Polydor Records England and on the Festival label.
This copy is near mint and comes with the original picture sleeve.
I have graded this copy as 'good' but I would say it's a good + so please study the pictures.
The record plays through perfectly, no skips or crackle.

One of the most promising vocal groups on the Australian scene at present are the Bee Gees. The group consists of three brothers, Barry the elder, aged 18, and the twins - Robin and Maurice, aged 14, Robin being 30 minutes older than Maurice. The name Bee Gees, comes from the elder member's initials, Barry Gibb. Born in the United Kingdom, on the Isle Of Man - the boys came to Australia when Barry was fourteen and the twins just ten. It was there on the Isle Of Man, that they began their singing career, performing in public at Church and Charity shows.
Barry plays the guitar, and composes most of the songs for the group, with occasional help from Robin and Maurice. Barry can write a song within the hour. Their father - Hugh Gibb, also the boys' personal manager, is an ex-band leader, encouraged them to further their singing by taking it seriously, which they have done.
