·       This PROMO RECORD was ONLY released by Capitol Records to the radio stations and DJs for airplay. It was NOT made available to the general public for purchase. 

·       This LP is a “Balanced for Broadcast” PROMO LP which is printed at the top of the rear cover. Capitol Records promoted its artists monthly in the 1960s to early 1970s by releasing its “Balanced for Broadcast” PROMOTIONAL LPs to radio stations for on-air play.

·       This CAPITOL RECORDS PROMOTIONAL LP was issued for the month of April, 1970 to CELEBRATE the FIRST EARTH DAY on April 22, 1970. (This is printed on the rear cover.)

·       This Promo LP contains 1 Beatles song inclusion, “HERE COMES THE SUN”, a George Harrison composition from the “ABBEY ROAD” LP.

·       This LP reminds me of the “No One’s Gonna Change Our World” U.K. LP that was released in December of 1969. This LP was issued to promote the work of the World Wildlife Fund and contained 1 Beatles’ contribution, the original version of “Across The Universe”.

·       Other recording artists from the Capitol Records catalog on this Promo LP with songs related to the first Earth Day Celebration are: David Axelrod, The Sons, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Fred Nell, Roy Harper, Steve Miller Band, John Stewart, The Band, Buddy Miles, and Pink Floyd.

·       The COVER is in NICE VG+ CONDITION. There is some very light wear on the corners, some light stains on the right side of the rear cover, and a very tiny tear at the bottom of the rear cover slick.  

·       Printed at the bottom right corner of the rear cover is “This is a Promotional Record. It is not for sale.”

·       The VINYL is graded NEAR MINT with just a couple of very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs.

·       The RECORD has WHITE LABELS with “PROMOTIONAL RECORD” and “NOT FOR SALE” printed on them.

A RARE CAPITOL RECORDS PROMOTIONAL LP you don’t see often issued for the FIRST EARTH DAY in WONDERFUL CONDITION that will be a GREAT ADDITION to the high bidder’s vinyl collection!
