READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
There are a few sealed Apple titles up this week. They’re some of the harder-to-find copies that should belong in someone’s collection.
Beatles-Related LP 1968 Modern Jazz Quartet Under the Jasmine Tree Apple Still Sealed
This album was only Apple’s fourth LP release. It contains a reworking of their 1957 track, “Exposure,” which I much prefer to the original. The biggest difference is that Connie Kay’s drumming throughout is livelier, more complicated and very tight, making for a great, spirited rendition, as opposed to the cool jazz, laid back version.
Vinyl--- NM SEALED.
Plates--- NM SEALED.
Cover--- NM SEALED. Perfect cover, still creamy-white. As collectors know, whenever you find an opened copy of this album, the front and back covers are generally moderately to heavily ringworn and dirtworn. This cover is still 1968 new-looking.
Breathe Holes--- Two breathe holes are present vertically on the front cover on the left-hand side, about one third in from the spine. One breathe hole is present on the back cover in the text of the first column.
Labels--- NM SEALED.
Apple Inner Sleeve--- NM SEALED.
RIAA--- 16. What’s that, Jacksonville? Could very well have a weird label variation we’ve never seen.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
