Description
I’ve put up for auction several BEATLES-RELATED PROMO RECORDS from my own vinyl collection. So, please check my other auctions for records that you may want.
Here are the details about the record in this auction:
· “SOUR MILK SEA” b/w “(I) FALL INSIDE YOUR EYES” by Jackie Lomax
· “Sour Milk Sea” was written by George Harrison and performed by Jackie Lomax.
· This is Apple Records PRO – 6240/6241. Under the promo record number is “(1834)” which is the record number for the commercial pressing of this Apple record.
· This is a MONO PROMO 45 RPM RECORD.
· This Record was issued in June, 1971.
· This is a 7-INCH PROMO RECORD issued by Apple Records.
· As you may know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS such as the one in this auction were issued in very limited quantities and only made available for promotional purposes to, for example, DJs at the Radio Stations for on-air play or for juke box play. They were not made available to the general public, so they are VERY sought after due to their rarity and limited quantities.
· Jackie Lomax is a British guitarist and singer/songwriter best known for his association with George Harrison and Eric Clapton.
· After Brian Epstein's death, the Beatles’ new record label, Apple Records, took over responsibility for Lomax's recording career, and George Harrison became heavily involved in production of his material including his Apple LP that this promo 45 was issued to promote: “Is That What you Want” (a sealed copy of which is available in another currently running auction of 4 sealed Apple LPs).
· The VINYL (both sides) is NEAR MINT.
· LABELS are NICE & CLEAN.
· This record also comes with a Near Mint Apple Records Stock Paper Sleeve.
