Released, 8th May 1970, the 'Box Set' was the only way a Beatles fan could acquire a copy of the latest album which also included a unique cover variant, with a 'Red' apple on the back panel and a disc displaying the earliest possible 2U/2U matrices. The album was sold separately, a few months later but with the now more common 'Green' apple cover and disc matrices rising to 3U and above

The Outer Slip Case
Made from thick card stock - genuine, fully laminated original - back panel is fine, just some pressure lines and laminate wrinkles - front panel is reasonably good, with some damage each side, as photos above - a little storage rubbing and bumping all around - still a fair example of this vulnerable product

The Inner Slip Case and Book Tray
These are replacement items, in near mint condition

The Book
Some creasing to the front and back panels - NO loose or missing pages, which is uncommon with this publication - correct 82 pages - front (1), rear (1) and (80) internal - packed with hundreds of great photos of the band

The LP Cover
Original 'Red' apple issue - completely intact but a little tired looking - spine is rubbed but all text is fully legible - laminate wrinkles and pressure lines, back and front - rarest UK variant

The Vinyl
Visually: Lovely deep gloss surfaces, with no groove whitening - some light surface handling lines, mainly in reflected light
Audio: Both sides produce superb audio, with undiminished sound quality and near silent run ins - occasional pop/crackle (nothing much) in places - no skips or stalls - a great copy

The Labels:
Perfect pair - spindle trails, both sides - initials, as photo

The Inner Sleeve
Original white patented, Made In England - near perfect - mild age toning - rarer, die cut centre displaying the same patent #1,125,555 as the more common uncut version
