THE BEATLES & TONY SHERIDAN - 'MY BONNIE'/'THE SAINTS'
1961 1st PRESS GERMAN POLYDOR 45
Polydor issued two different singles of "My Bonnie"/"The Saints" in German. This copy is the true 1st issue dating from June 1961 and is the 1st appearance on vinyl of The Beatles as a professional group.
The 1st issue has two unique features: 'My Bonnie' label has the subtitle 'Mein Hertz ist bei dir nur' below the title and the song's introduction is sung in German.
The disc itself bears the orange & gold stars Polydor label with the catalogue number: 24 673
Matrix numbers: 24673-2A & 24673-2B
'Made in Germany' is machine stamped in each run-out.
The disc is housed in its original generic Polydor company sleeve.
Condition
Labels: EXCELLENT
A vibrant, unblemished set with no signifcant or major blemishes or wear.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean but bear some light surface marks consistent with frequent play. There are no deep or 'feelable' marks on either side.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Extremely impressive sound quality from this superbly recorded early pressing; deep bass and sparkling highs missing from later pressings of this track. This copy has been played many times but there is no major deterioration to the sound quality either side. Apart from some light background on the unaccompanied introduction there is little else to fault on this historic disc.
