Description
The Beatles - Yellow Submarine
This exceptional copy of the Beatles' penultimate film soundtrack is UK STEREO first press crossover on the sought-after dark green Apple Records label.
The vinyl is housed within the original first variant front-side laminated flip-back sleeve which has two red lines on the reverse and no manufacturers credit in the bottom right hand corner.
The matrix numbers -3 / -1 identify this record as a rare crossover pressing - with side 1 being pressed from the second lacquer plates which produced sale-able records. The mother and stamper codes for this side, 1 & M respectively suggest that it was one of the first records to be pressed using the new lacquer plate. Consequently, the audio reproduction is fantastic. Take a listen below!
The labels are the second variant produced, identified by the absence of the 'Sold in U.K. ...' text to the top of the label.
The album is complete with the original black die-cut inner sleeve.

Side 1:
Side 2:
As can be heard on the recordings, this copy has clearly been played cautiously on good quality equipment. Side 1 could quite comfortably grade as Mint-. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides and a complete absence of static in between tracks. There is great channel separation, clear vocals and a punchy bass. A top example that would be difficult to improve upon!
Sleeve: EXCELLENT -
The sleeve looks superb! The front retains the original lustre and the cover art maintains bright colours. with bright colours. The reverse is very clean with just subtle evidence of handling. There is a short crease that is noticeable to the bottom left hand corner (as you look at the reverse). The opening edges are without wear. The top and bottom edges are all without wear. The corners show subtle softening.
