Description
The Beatles - Yellow Submarine
I am pleased to offer for sale this exceptional copy of the Beatles' penultimate film soundtrack, Yellow Submarine.
The album was produced to soundtrack the animated film with the same name. As the Beatles were not enthralled by the idea of the film, they placed little value in producing new music for the soundtrack. Consequently, the album only contained 4 new Beatles tracks, all of which had been rejected from previous albums.
The new tracks that were included are fantastic, "It's All Too Much" documents Harrison's experience with LSD, "Hey Bulldog" is Lennon rock'n'roll classic with a fantastic riff, and "All Together Now" is beautiful McCartney pop ballad. However, the pièce de résistance of the album is George Martin's neo-classical production on side 2. Featuring orchestral renditions of Beatles-y melodies, Martin wanted to show the world that he was as much of a Beatle as the other four.
This particular record is an extremely rare mono first pressing that remains in superb condition. See below for more details.

Condition:

Vinyl: EXCELLENT
Labels: EXCELLENT -
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. There are a number of visible spindle marks to both sides.
Visual: EXCELLENT -
The record maintains superb deep-gloss playing surfaces. Only a couple of light paper scuffs are visible to the surface in bright daylight - none are feel-able. Underneath a halogen desk lamp a several wispy paper hairlines can be seen alongside a sparkling rainbow shine. A great example.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
The audio is fantastic. Take a listen for yourself:

Side 1:
Side 2:
As can be heard on the recordings, this copy has clearly been played cautiously on good quality equipment. Side 1 could quite comfortably grade as Mint-. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides and a complete absence of static in between tracks. There is great channel separation, clear vocals and a punchy bass. A top example that would be difficult to improve upon!
Sleeve: EXCELLENT -
The sleeve looks superb! The cover art is bright and vibrant. The laminate covering retains the original lustre. The reverse is very clean. The opening edges are without wear. The top and bottom edges are all without wear. The top right-hand corner has moderate wear - hence the minus grading. The remaining corners show subtle softening but are strong. See pictures.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The original inner sleeve is in great condition.
