UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deteroration in sound quality.  The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.  Records advertised or Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.  The cover and packaging may have slight wear or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.  Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.  The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.  The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc.  The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Grading can be fine tuned by adding + or -.  As a rule sleeves/covers are graded first, eg. EX+ / MINT - (Cover/Record)

On 26-Jul-09 at 19:33:18 AEST, seller added the following information:

NB:  All of this complete set of UK Beatles' 1990's reissue LPs has always (since being bought as new and unplayed copies) been stored vertically in the wooden Beatles LP Box seen directly behind the 2LP set in the photo.  I do not use 'stock photos' - all photos (however bad) are taken by myself.  BTW:  The wooden Beatles LP box is not for sale as I am keeping it to store my original stereo Australian Beatles vinyl collection and as the continuing backdrop for my ebay auction photos.

On 30-Jul-09 at 13:52:27 AEST, seller added the following information:

NB: Registered Post is available of Australian buyers at an additional Australia Post cost of $2.80AU for $100AU insurance.  Registered Post is available for some International buyers at an Australia Post cost of $5.20AU for $100AU insurance.  Registered Post is the cheapest service Australia Post provides which enables a parcel to be tracked (i.e. it will Not go missing in the post).  All vinyl/CDs sent by Registered Post should be opened before signing (otherwise Australia Post or your country's national courier will not honour the insurance).
