Commonly referred to as "The White Album", the self titled "The Beatles" double album again pushed the envelope in terms of packaging, variety of music styles, and songwriting. Offering everything from Heavy Metal (Helter Skelter), to Folk (Blackbird), Rock (Back In The USSR) to Blues (Yer Blues), "The Beatles" again raised the bar. This variety of styles, combined with the sheer volume (and quality!) of the material, further cemented the Beatles' status as the premier talents of the sixties (and, as it turns out...probably the century!!). The avant garde experiment unequaled to this day, "Revolution 9" still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!!

Here we have a 1982, UK Apple pressing of this incredible double album. It is in Ex++ to NMint condition, having only been played once!! I bought this record new and played it one time, transferring it to cassette tape. It comes complete with all inserts (photos and poster), original white "Care of your record" and "Patent Nos. 1.125.555"" inner sleeves. A beautiful, complete copy!!!

The Vinyl:

Side 1 is Ex++, with no scratches or hairlines. The vinyl has a beautiful sheen. There are a few light surface scuffs, however (thus the less than NMint grading), visible under bright sunlight, but these are minor and certainly would not affect play.

Side 2 is Ex++ as well, with no scratches or hairlines. Again, beautiful sheen!! A couple of extremely light scuffs, barely visible, and only mentioned in an effort to be totally honest.

Side 3 is, I would say, NMint!!! No scratches, hairlines or scuffs!!! Completely pristine!!! Remarkable!!!

Side 4 is, well, what can I say??? Again, NMint!!! Completely clean, pristine, with a beautiful sheen!!!

The Labels

I will grade these beautiful Apple labels together as they are all in the same condition...NMint!!!! No spindle marks, writing, tears, scrapes...nothing! Completely pristine!!! Has the "An E.M.I. Recording" text on all sides. The only thing to mention here is the labels for sides 1 and 2 have a minor factory flaw in that, if you hold the disc at an angle to the light source, you can see a few matte flat portions on the outside edge of the labels. That's how they came from the factory. Probably not an issue but I thought I should mention it.

The Cover

A beautiful example of this classic cover. Still retains it sheen, with no tears, writing, or peeling. There is NO opening edge wear, NO bottom or top edgewear, and the most minimal corner wear...barely any at all!!!! The spine is straight, with no wear. The lettering on the spine is all clear, with no fading. The embossed "The Beatles" is clear and undamaged. There is one crease, at the bottom right corner of the front gatefold. This is not serious, but this, combined with some ring impression on the front and back and a couple of light scuffs, will drop my grading from NMint to Excellent+. The inside gatefold is perfectly clean, with no wear evident. A stellar example of this memorable gatefold cover!

The Inserts

The four photos are Mint!!! They have never been out of the sleeve (until now!!), and show no fading, yellowing, or anything!! Completely crisp, clear, and clean!! The borders are still bright white. Perfect!!! The poster is NMint!!! Again, never out of the sleeve (until now!!). I unfolded it this one time. It is totally unfaded, unyellowed, untouched. Note: There is one "factory fold" on one corner. That was how it was originally packed. I have unfolded it, but there is a crease...therefore, the NMint grading. All whites are bright, all colours sharp and clean. Again, perfect!!! (or...near perfect, due to the factory fold).

The Inner Sleeves

These are NMint as well!! There is no tearing, creasing, or splitting. One is the white EMI "Care of your record" sleeve, the other the white "Patent" sleeve. Very nice!!!

A great package!!! A beautiful 1982 pressing of this incredible double album, complete with all components. A collector level gem!!! All the best to the winning bidder!!! Good luck!!

While I have purchased a number of items on e-bay, I am a new seller. I am an avid Beatle (and Kate Bush!) fan, and have graded this record honestly, and to the best of my abilities, using the Rare Record Collector Price Guide (2004) grading system as my reference. If you are unhappy in any way with your purchase, I will promptly refund your money, no questions asked. As well, I will ship anywhere in the world, but will have to quote a shipping fee specific to the buyer's location.

Thank you for looking. I'll have more items in the days ahead. Beatle on!!!!
