THE BEATLES - 'WHITE ALBUM'
1968 UK 1st **EXPORT** PRESSING LP
ULTRA-RARE YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONE LABELS
Produced in extremely small quantities for countries where Apple was yet to be registered, this is one of the rarest Beatles LPs in the world.
This is a first export edition, with the yellow & black labels is housed in its original top-loading '500000' series cover number.
Although some copies carried a 'stereo' sticker in rear upper-right corner, this example has the 'stereo' logo.
This is the original cover in which the LPs were sold, I have not exchanged it with another example.
This ultra-rare LP comes complete with its four thick-card photos, UK printed 'Garrod & Lofthouse' poster and matt-black, die-cut inners.
This extremely rare UK 1st EXPORT stereo pressing on the yellow & black labels: P-PCS 7067/8
All labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Gramophone Co. Ltd....' rim texts.
There is no tax/price code is visible on any label.
Housed in a fully laminated, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' stereo cover, numbered: No. 0580463.
The rear cover carries a small 'stereo' logo in the upper right corner - NOT a sticker.
Complete with original die-cut matt-black inners, UK matt 'Garrod & Lofthouse' poster and four 'thick' card colour photos.
Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-1
Stamper numbers: 3/TT, 2/GPD, 6/HH, 2/LG
Disc 2 labels: VERY GOOD PLUS
All labels bear many light spindle trails but no writing, tears or major faults.
Visual: VERY GOOD MINUS
Viewed in daylight all surfaces display noticeable surface marks; consisting mostly of small fingernail scuffs and an occaisional stylus scratch.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals many light paper hairlines but no deep of feelable marks or other major faults.
All sides lie 100% flat on the turntable without any dishing or warping.
Audio: GOOD
Clearly played very many times, groovewear background noise is audible throughout on all sides.
Some occaisional light ticks are audible but there are no heavy clicks, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Cover: GOOD
This correct '500000' series cover displays some age discoloration and moderate handling & storage wear.
The front panel has a repaired tear and some general marks and creases but the No. 0580463 number is bold & clear.
The inside gatefold & rear panel display a few light creases but are otherwise undamaged with no major faults.
There is a 3cms repair to the lower spine but all the text is present & readable.
