1968 UK 1st *STEREO* PRESSING
**100% COMPLETE & EARLY COPY**
Both discs on this fine, early copy appear on the dark green Apple label: PCS 7067 & PCS 7068
The very early copy omits the 'An EMI Recording' statement from all labels.
All labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text.
There is no tax/price code is visible on any label.
Housed in a fully laminated, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' 10mm 'wide-spine' stereo cover, numbered: No. 0444793
Complete with original die-cut matt-black inners, matt UK 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed poster & four 'thick' card colour photos & white photo spacer.
Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-1
Stamper numbers: 4/AO, 4/AM, 3/OO, 2/OR
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
Both surfaces are extremely clean, bright & glossy - completely undulled by groovewear or improper storage.
The only visible marks in daylight are two or three light fingernail lines to each side but no other significant marks.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals a few wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no further wear.
Audio: NEAR MINT
Having listened carefully at volume to the entire disc, I am pleased to report no trace of background noise or groovewear on any track.
Apart from a few faint ticks on the introduction to 'Dear Prudence', there are no further audible faults or wear.
The easily damaged introduction to 'Martha My Dear' and delicate 'Blackbird' & 'Julia' play perfectly.
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
Again, both surfaces are in superb shape with just a few light fingernail lines but no other significant marks or scratches to either side.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals no other marks or wear.
Audio: NEAR MINT
All tracks on this disc play & sound 'as new'
There is no trace of any crackle, peak/groovewear distortion anywhere - even the easily worn 'Long, Long Long' & 'Goodnight' play perfectly
Quieter tracks such as 'Mother Nature's Son' play cleanly & clearly without any distortion, break up or othersuch intereference.
Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS
An superb heavy, strong example, which retains an excellent 'whiteness', with just a few faint toning lines to the front panel but no other significant wear.
The laminate is clean & glossy with just 3 small 'thumbnail' wrinkles to the front panel, but is totally intact around the raised wording.
Apart from a small stain to the lower left corner, all are square and undamaged. The top-opening edges appear untouched.
The inside is perfect and clearly unopened for many years, so I have not attempted to open it out fully.
The 10mm wide-spine is unsquashed & has a totally unsplit lamninate which is perfectly worded throughout.
