1968 UK 1st PRESSING *MONO* LP

**No. 0042460 - 100% COMPLETE**

This excellent & early mono 1st pressing is 100% complete with all inserts, including the white photo spacer.

Carefully graded at volume on headphones for a 100% accurate description of audio quality.

This early UK 1st MONO pressing is on the dark green Apple labels: PMC 7067/8
All labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' and 'Apple Records..' rim texts.
The 'An EMI Recording' statement is omitted from all labels.
There is no tax/price code visible on any label.

Housed in a fully laminated, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono cover, numbered: No. 0042460.
Complete with original matt-black inners, matt 'Garrod & Lofthouse' poster, four thick card colour photos & white photo spacer.

Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-1
Stamper numbers: 1,33,3,10/MG, 2,6/RD, 2/PH, 1/RM

Labels: EXCELLENT PLUS

Visual: EXCELLENT

Bright, clean and gloss surfaces bearing only some light sleeve removal marks & paper hairlines visible only directly under a halogen desk lamp.
There are no significant marks or any scratches anywhere and both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable without any dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT

Carefully but not overplayed, there is overall no significant lessening to the sound quality.
Detailed listening reveals a hint of light wear to some extreme peaks but no crackle between tracks or during quieter passages.
For example; the frequently damaged intro to 'Martha My Dear' and all of 'Julia' play clearly with no crackle, clicks or other audible wear.
Elsewhere there are no clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.

Labels: EXCELLENT PLUS

Visual: EXCELLENT

Very clean, bright & glossy surfaces undulled by overplay or careless handling.
Some minor paper hairlines and sleeve removal marks are visible only directly under a halogen desk lamp
There are no significant marks or scratches any where and both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable without any dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS

Played slightly less than disc 1, there is very little evidence of any audible wear.
For example: the delicate 'Mother Nature's Son' plays clearly & without crackle, and even the final chord on the 'Long Long Long' is undistorted.
Careful listening detected no crackle, groovewear distortion, clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.

Cover: EXCELLENT

Very strong & clean thick card example which retains a good 'whiteness' and bears no significant age discolouration or major wear.
The front panel laminate is unpitted and undamaged, with just light storagewear and no heavy creasing or marks.
The lower corners bear some light storagewear but the top opening edges are clean with light wear only but no tears or feathering.
The rear panel and inside of the gatefold are both undamaged and without any writing, marks or missing paper.
The spine has some missing laminate but all the text is intact & readable and all seams are undamaged.
