1968 UK 1st PRESSING *MONO* LP
**NEAR MINT**
This superb UK 1st MONO pressing is on the dark green Apple labels: PMC 7067/8
All labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' and 'An EMI Recording' statement.
There is no tax/price code visible on any label.
Housed in a fully laminated, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono cover, numbered: No. 0111263.
Complete with original matt-black inners, matt 'Garrod & Lofthouse' poster & 4 card colour photos.
Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-2
Stamper numbers: 1/M, 7/OH, 1/O & 3/GMG
Just a single spindle trail to each one.
Visual: NEAR MINT
All sides appear in MINT condition when viewed in strong daylight with no scuffs, marks or scratches anywhere.
Careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but absolutely no other marks or wear.
All sides lie 100% flat on the turntable without any dishing or warping.
Audio: Disc 1 EXCELLENT PLUS Disc 2 NEAR MINT
So hard to find a top copy of this LP and I have listened to the entire LP at volume for this audio report.
The run-ins to all sides play silently with no background crackle on or between any tracks. There are no clicks, pops, jumps or hiss anywhere.
The only fault I detected was just two or three instances of peakwear distortion on 'Dear Prudence' & 'Blackbird.
However, this disc has clearly only been played once or twice and is unlikely to surface here again in such fine condition.
Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS
Very strong & clean 'thick' card, unyellowed example which retains an excellent 'whiteness'.
Both front & rear panel laminates are pristine, unscratched and undamaged; with no pitting, indentations or creasing anywhere.
There is a tiny, faint spot on the front panel but this is under the laminate.
There is slight bruising to the lower corners but the upper corners and top opening edges are clean, sharp & undamaged.
The inside of the gatefold is in perfect condition.
The spine laminate is all present but has a 6.5cm split to its middle section but the text is covered, clean & readable.
Hard to find a cleaner example.
