Purchased on day-of-release on the 22nd November 1968, this genuinely low-numbered example is a 1968 UK 1st MONO pressing on the dark green Apple label: PMC 7067 & PMC 7068

All four labels carry the 'Sold in UK....' statement but the 'An EMI Recording' text is present on labels 1 & 2 only.

A 'KJT' purchase tax code present in the centre the side 3 label.

Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, XEX 710-1 & XEX 711-1, XEX 712-1

Stamper codes: 1, 3,33,10/ML, 3/AH & 5/TL, 2/GRL

Vinyl weight: 136g & 151g

The discs are housed within a heavy card stock, fully-laminated, inner-flipback, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with the extremely low number of: No.0000032

The package is complete with its original 4 colour portrait photos, UK printed matt poster & both black die-cut inner-sleeves.

All are clean & bright but have numerous spindle trails around each centre hole.

Discs: 1. VERY GOOD  2. VERY GOOD +

Both discs are clean & bright but so bear some light surface marks in strong daylight, together with an occasional light scratch (mostly on disc 1) consistent with frequent handling and play. However, there are no deep or 'feelable' marks on any surface and both discs lir 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Both discs play: VERY GOOD

Both discs have been played many times but there is no significant deterioration to the sound quality throughout all four sides. My single, careful play-check at volume found some of the usual light background during some of the quieter passages on disc 1, but no heavy clicks, pops or other such faults or interference. Disc 2 plays better and is without any background interference or other such wear. I would have graded disc 2 at 'VG+' if it were not for an inexplicable single groove jump on 'Yer Blues'.

VERY GOOD

This unique example is fully intact and despite a moderate amount of general age, handling & storage wear, is still in respectable condition. The overall colour has mellowed to a creamy off-white and the front panel bears some of the scars of time. There are several indentation marks and a small area of missing paper towards the lower left corner but the all-important number is bold and clear. The corners show general storagewear but no tears or heavy bruising. There is some moderate wear to the top edge of the front pocket mostly but no tears to any. The rear panel too displays several indentation lines but no missing paper. The inside of the gatefold is clean & undamaged and all seams of both pockets are smooth, unstressed & unsplit. The spine's laminate has split and as a result is discoloured. However both sets of text are still present and readable.
