Stamper numbers: 1,33,3,10/ML, 1/MAG, 2/GM, 1/G
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
Both surfaces are clean, bright & glossy - completely undulled by groovewear or improper storage.
The only visible mark in daylight is a single fine stylus hairline on side 1. Both sides are otherwise unmarked.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no further marks or wear.
Audio: NEAR MINT
Having listened carefully at volume to the entire disc, I am pleased to report that all tracks sound 100% 'as new'.
There is absolutely no trace of background noise, groovewear or any other audible wear on any track or in either channel.
Frequently worn areas such as the crossover from 'Back in The USSR' to 'Dear Prudence' play perfectly without any background crackle.
Even the guitar solo on 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' is free from peakwear distortion or break-up.
The easily damaged introduction to 'Martha My Dear' and the delicate 'Blackbird' & 'Julia' all play perfectly.
Both run-ins & all bands play silently and there are no clicks, pops or othersuch interference anywhere.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Again, both surfaces are in pristine condition in strong daylight with no marks or scratches visible in daylight to either side.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just some faint inner-sleeve removal marks, but no other wear.
Audio: NEAR MINT
As with disc 1, this disc has received just a few careful plays on top quality equipment, and all tracks play 'as new'
There is no trace of any crackle, peak/groovewear distortion anywhere - even the easily worn 'Long, Long Long' & 'Goodnight' play perfectly
Quieter tracks such as 'Mother Nature's Son' play cleanly & clearly without any distortion or break up.
Both run-ins & all bands play silently and there are no clicks, pops or othersuch interference anywhere.
Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS
An outstanding example from thick card stock & retaining an excellent 'whiteness' with no toning or indeed any significant wear at all
The laminate is completely perfect front & rear. It is glossy, unmarked & unscratched and intact around the raised wording.
Apart from a very minor bruise to the lower right corner, all are clean, square and undamaged.
The top-opening edges have been barely touched and have no tears or any major damage to any.
The inside is perfect and clearly has remained unopened for many years, so I have not attempted to open it out fully.
The 8mm wide-spine is unsquashed and clearly worded throughout, despite some laminate splitting down the centre of the spine.
Both discs have been carefully audibly graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck fitted with a Shelter 901 cartridge.
