CONDITION
Disc
Labels: NEAR MINT
All are clean & bright and undamaged. There are three of four small spindle marks around the side 2 centre hole, but none at all on 1 and just a handful around 3 & 4.
Visual: Disc 1: EXCELLENT + Disc 2: NEAR MINT
All playing surfaces are perfectly clean and retain all of their 'as new' deep gloss shine. Apart from a single 1cm non-feelable hairlines on side 2, disc 1 is unmarked in strong daylight and reveals just some light paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp. Disc 2 is completely unmarked in daylight with no scuffs or scratches whatsoever. Only some unavoidable faint inner-sleeve removal marks on side 4 prevent MINT. All sides of these well looked after discs lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: Disc 1: EXCELLENT + Disc 2: NEAR MINT
So hard to find a respectable sounding copy of this easily worn set, but this one is an exception. As usual, the first disc has been played a little more than the second and my single careful play-check detected a touch of background at the beginning of 'Happiness is a Warm Gun' and a couple of light ticks on the delicate introduction to 'Martha My Dear' and 'Julia'. However, disc 2 plays flawlessly and I could find no audible distraction or wear of any kind. If you are looking for a good sounding, playable mono set, this set is worthy of serious consideration.
Cover: NEAR MINT
An extremely handsome example of this iconic cover which has gently and evenly mellowed in colour but retains an immaculate, unscratched high-gloss laminate which is free from any wrinkles, creasing or any other storagewear all-round. All corners are clean & unbumped and all of the top-opening edges are perfectly straight and completely unworn. The rear panel is as pristine as the front.
The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and 'as new'.
The spine is clean & unworn with just two 1cm splits to the laminate but fully intact over the lettering and is extremely attractive on the shelf.
Both lower and all side seams are all smooth, unstressed and unworn.
Poster: EXCELLENT +
Clean & fully intact with a few light handling wrinkles but it has never been hung and there are no tears or damage to any of the folds.
Photos: MINT
Photo Protector Sheet: EXCELLENT
Uncreased and undamaged but with mild foxing.
Inner-sleeves: EXCELLENT & EXCELLENT -
Both are clean & flat with just a little wear along the top edge of one and small seam splits in one.
