This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

The Vinyl: EX+. Wonderful vinyl with equally superb sound reproduction. I have just listened to her all the way through-Truely marvelous! All there is, is dust and a very light scuff mark to side 2-which doesn't affet playback at all.....A simple pleasure to listen too-ESPECIALLY UP LOUD!
Each disc has good weight and are each as FLAT as the day she was born.


The labels: NMINT! All four of the labels are lovely an clean with only a very few of the lightest spindle marks, visible only when angled towards the light and really trying to look for them, nothing at all to worry about-Please see the detailed photo's.
"GEMA" boxed text on all four sides at 9 O'clock.
 


The Cover: It is side loading and embossed with the  NUMBER 0006801
This little beauty has stood the passage of time incredibly well. Only has light shelf wear with light rubbing.
The corners remain strong and sharp.
The spine is uncrushed and brilliantly strong.
Inner images are as fresh today as they were when printed.

 printed text to the inside opening, beneath the printed track listing.
"Printed and made in Germany"
STEREO and the catalogue number to the top right on the back of the cover.
Quite an unusual cover, to be numbered AND made in Germany.

Inners: They are in great shape too...They are the ORIGINAL inners with die-cut corners. Both free from splits and writing.

ORIGINAL German poster too...NOW that's rare.
