Description
PLEASE TAKE TO TIME TO READ THIS AUCTION DESCRIPTION
VERY RARE genuine low-number US-issue copy of The Beatles (The White Album), stereo, SWBO 101, 1968. The condition of the classic gatefold cover is superb as the photos show. THE NUMBER ON THIS COVER IS 0006474. Also induced are the four photos (with a yellow cover sheet) and poster. The disks that accompany this LP are NOT the original disks - they are later releases (the same year) with the "7 errors" corrected.
I will say this again - The disks that accompany this cover are not the original disks that came with it. Here is the true story. I purchased this LP, with the original disks, at a garage sale in Portland, Oregon around 1984. At the time, I did not appreciate the importance of the original "7-error" disks. Anyway, the disks that came with the cover were in very rough condition - so I changed them out with a set of corrected disks. I have owned this mismatched LP for 33 years. Believe me, every time I looked at it I thought about those original disks. They should have stayed with the original cover. That said, I wouldn't have changed them out all those years ago unless they were pretty bad....
It's the cover that is of primary interest here. As you can see from the photos the only major blemish with the cover is the crease at the lower-front panel of the gatefold just above the number. There are also a couple of minor creases just above the number that should be no big deal. Overall, the cover is both fabulous and rare. This might prove to be an excellent opportunity to upgrade a cover you already own. This cover could turn your already treasured copy of the White Album into a near museum piece.
- Great white gloss, lots of gloss, and all printing inside and out is excellent,
- No splits,
- Sharp Corners,
- Super-light Ringwear,
- No shelf scuffing,
- No writing.... etc., etc.
The off-label disks are VG+ with light surface scratches that shouldn't be a problem with playing.
If for some reason you don't want the disks I will be happy to ship the cover, with or without the inserts, via USPS Priority Mail.
Buyer to pay $4.00 for USPS Media shipping in the United States if the disks are included. Record will arrive in a new record mailer with extra cardboard backing. I am happy to upgrade shipping to USPS Priority shipping at buyer request for an additional charge. Please ask if you are interested.
International buyers are welcome but shipping will be more depending upon destination. Record will be shipped via USPS International First Class mail. I reserve the right not to ship to South American destinations due to the prevalence of missing and lost packages.
As we know, grading used records is quite subjective. I grade my records to the best of my ability. I will accept returns within 14 days for a refund of the purchase price if this item is not as described. Buyer to pay for return shipping. Please email me right away if a problem emerges.
Email any other questions you may have to me prior to bidding.
Bid with confidence.

Hi again, just saying once again that THIS ITEM DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL DISKS - they are corrected replacement disks that I inserted decades ago as described in the item description. The 'prize' here is the fabulous, genuine, low-number cover. Don't let this unique, super rare, and historic LP cover get away...
Good luck...
