Here is a NICE FIRST RUN/PRESSING of this LANDMARK LP by THE BEATLES.

In this auction:

• “THE BEATLES”(aka “THE WHITE ALBUM”) LP by The Beatles

• This is Apple Records SWBO - 101 (in stereo)

• It is a DOUBLE-VINYL LP.

• It was released November 25, 1968.

• This LP has a FIRST RUN COVER. We know this because:

  • “The BEATLES” is embossed on the front cover and there is a printed number in the lower right area.

  • It has a printed number below 2,250,000. The number on this LP cover is 1,348,580.

  • There is no Apple copyright notice printed inside the cover.

• The labels are Apple labels with the Capitol logo in the perimeter printing on the sliced-Apple labels.

• This variation has the CORRECT TITLES to the songs “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill”, “Revolution 1” and “Revolution 9”.

• It is important to note that this variation with the corrected song titles was issued AT THE SAME TIME as the version with the mistakes in the song titles. (Often, folks think that the LPs with the corrected labels were issued after the labels with the mistakes.) So, this vinyl would be considered a FIRST PRESSING (excluding, of course, the very rare compressed sound issue, that was made with the initial 33 lacquers that George Harrison ordered Capitol to destroy.)

• This LP comes with the RARE 4.75 x 4 INCH GLOSSY WHITE STICKER WITH BLUE PRINT THAT LISTS THE SONG TITLES ON THIS DOUBLE-VINYL LP. It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. (Eight different stickers were issued on this LP and ALL of them have become RARE and HARDER TO FIND these days.)

• The STICKER in this auction was initially adhered to the shrink wrap that was on the LP, not adhered to the LP cover itself, so it is loose with the shrink on the back of it. (The copies I’d seen prior to this one had the sticker attached to the upper center area of the rear cover.) The gum/glue on the back of the label is clean, so the piece of shrink wrap can be easily peeled off if the high bidder wishes to stick the label to the LP cover.

• The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. It shows some light overall aging/foxing that occurred over time with these all-white covers. There is also some light age spotting/foxing near the top edge of the front cover. There is light wear on the corners, and the seams are nice and strong. The LP number printed on the cover is 1348580 preceded by a large dot.

• The VINYL is NICE VG+ CONDITION with some very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none of which are “feel-able”) and LOTS OF GLOSS.

• This LP comes with the 4 GLOSSY COLOR PHOTOS (of John, Paul, George and Ringo) on heavier stock paper in NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION with just 4 very light corner pushes. “Printed in USA” is in the lower left margin. According to Perry Cox, photos printed before December 12, 1968 have “Printed in USA” in the margins. Therefore, these are the CORRECT PHOTOS for this first run issue of the LP.

• This LP also comes with the GLOSSY COLOR POSTER with LYRICS PRINTED ON THE REVERSE. The POSTER is in STRONG VG+ CONDITION with moderate signs of handling. There are NO tears, NO writing and NO splitting on the folds. According to Cox, the first run poster credit was printed with the copyright symbol followed by “Apple Records”. (Second run and later posters changed this credit.) Therefore, the poster in this auction with the copyright symbol followed by “Apple Records” is the CORRECT POSTER for this first run issue of the LP.

A VERY NICE & CORRECTLY COMPLETE FIRST-RUN ISSUE OF THIS LANDMARK BEATLES’ LP WITH A RARE STICKER THAT WILL BE A FINE ADDITION TO ANY BEATLES OR VINYL COLLECTION!
