SCARCE BLACK AND SILVER PARLOPHONE LABEL, IMMEDIATELY REPLACED THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABEL IN 1969, RARE TITLE, IMMACULATE EXAMPLE
In 1969, for the FIRST TIME since 1963, PARLOPHONE/EMI re-designed their record labels from the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone to Black and Silver Parlophone, with a ONE BOX EMI logo. This one box logo is printed to the bottom portion of the record label on both sides.
The album was issued as a SMALL BATCH only with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, encircled ‘P’ date 1963, and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ together with the ONE EMI Box to the bottom of the label. (Please note that the Vinyl weight is the same HEAVY QUALITY to that of the earlier 1963 release. In addition, the machine stamped matrix numbers are the same as for the original 1963 version.
Both record labels are in IMMACULATE Near Mint condition – just a few light centre spindle lines.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in STUNNING Near Mint condition - GLISTENING, NEW LOOKING Vinyl surfaces - hard to fault, with just one or two small surface hairlines.
Side 1 Matrix is: YEX 110-2 and side 2: YEX 111-2.
Side 1 stampers: 4/OT and Side 2: 25/PP.
The album plays SUPERBLY through ALL the tracks.
The Vinyl LP comes in an EMI advertising inner record bag which is in Excellent condition, just a tiny split to the bottom seam about half an inch.
….And is housed in its ORIGINAL, LAMINATED, GARROD and LOFTHOUSE Picture Sleeve with THREE fold over flip backs to the reverse, with the same artwork and style as the original 1963 release.
The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Sleeve is in IMPRESSIVE excellent condition, a BRIGHT, FIRM, CLEAN sleeve, showing some mild record indentation. The reverse of the sleeve is FIRM, with NO damage to the three flip backs,with the exception of light yellowing to the bottom flip back.
A VERY NICE example of this BRIEFLY ISSUED 1969 EMI/PARLOPHONE UK Release. HARD TO FIND title on this ONE EMI BOX label format!
