Description
A Real 1964 Stereo Lp of "The Beatles with Frank Ifield on VeeJay (SR-1085)!
This is a rare 1st pressing, stereo version of The Beatles & Frank Ifield On Stage, Vee Jay VJLPS 1085. Bruce Spizer's excellent book Beatles Records on Vee Jay is generally regarded as the most comprehensive research ever done on the Beatles' Vee Jay pressings. His research determined that total sales figure (minus returned copies that were destroyed) of this stereo LP, in all 4 of its versions, were only 3,684 Lp's!!! There are 4 label variations of this stereo LP. This auction is for an original (NOT bootleg like I see all the time) 1964 oval logo on the label, which is the 1st pressing.
Verification- The Jacket (and forgive my photography!) has the word "Stereo" at center top front cover. There is printing on the spine (See photo). The background color of the front of the jacket is a blue/purple (fakes have black covers). On the label, the word "Stereo" has to appear on the label. If the photographs are not clear enough to see something you want to view in greater detail, PLEASE feel free to e-mail through e-bay! I'll be more than happy to send you digital photos'sand/or any information you need.
Condition- Here's the best part of all!!! TheVinyl and Labels are as close to mint (if such a thing existed) as your ever going to possible see on this Lp!!!(Even if you don't bid, take a scan of it for latter appreciation!). There's not a scratch, smudge, scuff groove with wear ect ect... on it!! The Vinyl shines like it did in 1964 as well as the labels!! If you don't believe me, look at the photos again!! Both are NM+ easy! The Inner Sleeve advertising other VJ Lp's is NM+ (Yes this is the original sleeve that came with it) except for glue marks on the outmost edges of the sides(runs down both edges on one side of paper) which is a natural effect of aging & storage (41 years) on the type paper stock and glue VeeJay used to hold the sides of their sleeves together. There is no writing, staining or creases onthe sleeve. The Jacket or cover is a VG+ (wobc) do to the beginnings of some ringwear on the front cover and minor "webbing" along small portions of the top & bottom seams (no they are not split!). Please see photo as the writing doesn't disturb the flow of the back cover.
I've owned & enjoyed this Lp for over 20 years without daring fate by putting a needle to its precious skin.......I mean grooves (that what I get for trying to br poetic!). This is truely one of the centerpieces of any Beatles collection and will surely increase in value as the years pass (I'll tell the winner what I paid for it at auction in the early 80's). Over the past 6 months, I've only seen 2 or 3 real ones come up through e-bay (A VG+ copy got a little more than book at $500.00) So early congrats to the winner! Good Luck to all!
Payment- I now except Paypal, Bid Pay, Personal checks (drawn from American banks) or money orders in US funds. You may send US currency but I wouldn't recommend it. Please allow 7-10 processing for all personal checks.
Shipping-I Ship my records in a Mylar bag pressed between two cardboard protectors in an oversized bubble-pack envelope (I've never had a complaint yet). For this item, I'll be putting the bubble-pack envelope in a box so it cannot move. If you have a shipping preference, please tell me. Shipping in the US is $7.50 for priority return request. Outside the USA, I'll calculate shipping/ method after the auction. I ship through The USPS
Insurance-Although I have never had a problem with The USPS, I would urge Insuring all items, and will not be held responsible for items that are mishandled/damaged by the post office. Insurance is $1.30 per $100 in US.
Returns- Sorry, I will only except returns on items that are damage and insured at the post office. I grade my records as if I were buying them in order not to overgrade them. I've been buying/selling records for over 20 years with many return satisfied customers. I hope you'll soon be one!!! Good Luck!!
