Description

In this auction:

  • PLEASE PLEASE ME” b/w “FROM ME TO YOU” by THE BEATLES

  • This is Capitol Star Line 6063.

  • This record was released October 11, 1965.

  • It is an East Coast Pressing identified by the thin print on the label. This East Coast Pressing is additionally confirmed by the triangle“?” in the trail-off wax which is the symbol Capitol Records used to identify vinyl pressed at its Scranton Pressing Plant.

  • I understand that these Beatles green-swirl label Capitol Star Line issues were primarily sent to radio stations for promotional play which makes them harder to find due to limited quantities that were pressed. It seems that these green-swirl Star Line pressings were issued to promote early Beatles recordings to which Capitol Records had acquired the rights from Vee Jay Records following legal judication.

  • The VINYL is in WEAK VG to VG- CONDITION. There are a number of very light surface hairlines/scuffs, none of which are “feelable”. Since this is a lower-grade record, I played both sides to be sure that there are no skips. There are NO SKIPS tracking on my Technics turntable at 1/2 gram. It tracks with minimal audible distractions despite the many visual hairlines/scuffs. There is a VERY TINY chip/rough spot (or I've heard the term "flea-bite") on the B-Side edge that does not affect play at all. (Noticable if running fingers along the edges or edge reflecting in the light.)

  • The LABELS have light wear/soiling. There is a little more wear/soiling on the “Please Please Me” label.

  • This record was issued in a CAPITOL STAR LINE SLEEVE which is included. It is the CORRECT SLEEVE for this Capitol Star Line Pressing. The sleeve has some tattering at the opening and sticker tear on one side.

  • It’s a VG-ish COPY of this Capitol Records green-swirl pressing for your collection if you’re lacking it.
