Description
The BEATLES. “ Yesterday and Today”, their 9th Capitol album, USA. Originally issued 1966. This official Capitol Reproduction of the “infamous” BUTCHER Cover is from 1986, I think! NOT A BOOTLEG. NOT A FANTASY COVER (It’s the original cover photo, not an alternate shot). This copy is STILL SEALED, presumably in MINT condition, Sleeve and Vinyl. Presumably with original style 1966 Rainbow labels. (Perhaps we will never know, if it stays sealed!!). Album cover is the MONO version, without the dark Stereo header across the top of the cover. 11 Hits in MONO. Various songs from UK Beatles LPs HELP, RUBBER SOUL and REVOLVER (thus the “Butcher” critique implied by the cover photo). Plus recent Number One: We Can Work It Out and it’s flip side Day Tripper. Vinyl condition is Goldmine SS/M, presumably untouched!! THIS IS NOT A 1966 ORIGINAL FIRST STATE COVER!! It is one of the most interesting cover photos for an album in the world, the photo was not used on any other album worldwide. Several incredible tracks: the all time great YESTERDAY, and another Number One, We can Work It Out. And the 3 tracks from REVOLVER, were released in America on this album a couple months before Revolver came out in UK! And of course this Album cover was recalled by Capitol after many complaints, and replaced with the Suitcase/Trunk Cover after less than a million Butcher Covers were issued and pulled back. THOSE ORIGINALS ARE WORTH FORTUNES IN VG+ OR BETTER CONDITION. My opinion is it’s very interesting to hear the Beatles songs in a different playing order. They sound so fresh with Incredible energy from them when they jump into your ear unexpectedly! See images, actual sale item. NOTE THE COLORED VINYL PHOTOS INCLUDED. I PRESUME THIS ONE IS RED, BUT I DO TOT RECALL THE ORIGINAL SALE INFO AND THE SEALED COVER HAS NO INDICATOR OF VINYL COLOR SO BUYER BEWARE!!! PERHAPS IT IS ORANGE!! THE WHITE VINYL CAME WITH A STEREO REPRO COVER, I THINK!!
