Beatles US Reissue LP Meet the Beatles EX ’69 Green Capitol ST-2047
US Reissue LP released in 1969 on the Green Capitol Records Label. Cat: ST-2047. Matrix numbers: ST-1-2047 A5/ ST-2-2047-A5.Every so often Timewarp is lucky enough to come across a special record collection. Over the following weeks I will be listing records from one such collection. Collected mostly during the 1960’s and 70’s this set of records have been well preserved and cared for some dating back to over 50 years old!! Our regular customers will be aware that if we do grade a record at Near Mint expect it to have only been played a handful of times at most and to sound superb. We hope you enjoy the records we will be offering as much as we have in presenting them to you.
Meet the Beatles! wasn't the first Beatles album released in the U.S. (that would've been Introducing the Beatles, on Vee Jay), but as the first Beatles album released by Capitol Records, it was indeed the LP where many millions of Americans were introduced to the Fab Four. As an introduction, there could hardly have been one better. Largely comprised of material released on their second U.K. LP, With the Beatles the album art offers a blue-tinted spin on that late-1963 release Meet the Beatles! contains nine of that album's 14 songs, cutting out almost all the covers.
Tracks: I want to hold your hand/ I saw her standing there/ This boy/ It won’t be long/ All I’ve got to do/ All my loving/ Don’t bother me/ Little child/ Til there was you/ Hold me tight/ I wanna be your man/ Not a second time.
