READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles’ Story 1970 2-LP Fascinating and Strange Likely One-of-a-Kind Apple Pressing, NM!

I’ve never seen a copy quite like this one before.  The “Mfd. By Apple Records, Inc.” disclaimer, which can usually be found at the bottoms of either the Side 1 labels OR the Side 2 labels is at the bottom of three labels.

Side 1 label is the brighter Apple label out of the Winchester, VA plant, and the remaining three are the dark, glossy labels, also out of the Winchester plant.  Albums are configured sides 1 and 4, 2 and 3.  Album 1 has the disclaimer at the bottoms of both sides, and album 2 only has it on the Side 2 label.

Does anyone have one of these?  I have a feeling that this is the only one, but I’m willing to do the research in order to be sure.

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  NM/NM.  All four sides look dangerously unplayed.  Not a single light wisp among all four sides.

Plates--- X9/X7.  X7/X10.  Hand-etched Delta symbol (or rifle) in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Winchester.

Cover--- VG+.  Front cover has light to moderate ringwear, especially at the bottom.  Back cover has very little dirtwear, and a very small amount of water damage at the very bottom edge.  Cover has lightly yellowed.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

Gatefold--- EX.  Gatefold has barely yellowed.  NO CENTER SEAM SPLITS.

Labels--- NM/EX.  NM/EX.  Both whole Apple labels look brand new, freshly printed.  Both sliced Apple labels have just a very few slight and short spindle marks.  Beautiful set!

Inner Sleeves--- VG+/VG+.  Both sleeves have significantly browned over the last 56 years.  One sleeve has a tiny tear at the die-cut label hole on one side.  The other sleeve has a ¼-inch bottom center seam split.  It would be best not to store your LP’s in these originals.

Generic inner sleeves will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeves en route.

RIAA: 16. Yes, there were a very few covers that actually did have RIAA numbers from 1969 and 1970.  This is one of them.  See photo.

**This is a very special opportunity to own what may well be a one-off.  Since 1975, I’ve never seen, nor heard of another copy, and I don’t expect to hear back from anyone regarding my query.**

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
